Olive's 1st birthday part 1.

Olive's first birthday went smashingly! She was the perfect birthday baby, smiling, laughing, face planting in her cake - all that you imagine that first cake experience to be. In comparison, on my other girls' first birthday, Aubrey couldn't sit still long enough to be bothered to eat cake and Taylor didn't want to eat her birthday cake, she only wanted sweet potatoes! Oh how times have changed! If you ask Taylor what her favorite food is, she'll say frosting. I'm trying to train her to say "fresh fruits and vegetables" instead, if only to look good in front of her pediatrician :)

My crazies!

Let me explain! I told Taylor to give Olive a kiss, Olive must have spotted some frosting, and slurped Taylor's face when she leaned in. We were laughing and gagging at the same time!

Ouray - Februaryish

Up in the mountains in Ouray - we spent a night there early this year. It was actually quite a disastrous trip. Almost sliding off the mountain when our minivan couldn't make it up the icy roads.... the road being closed before the cabin, so having to haul our frozen kids through ice and snow to an equally freezing cabin...our pack and play being stolen by some miners, leaving us with no where for our 1 year old to sleep....BUT it was beautiful!! And our good friends accompanied us and made delicious food. We will plan on a summer visit the next time though!

Late January 2013 - Peekaboo Session

In late January, right in between Taylor's 3rd birthday and Olive's 1st birthday, I took my girls to Utah to do a session with Peekaboo Photography. I have admired her style for so long and she is the perfect match for a family of all girls!!

Continuing on with Taylor's 3rd bday celebrations. She loves to help me cook. It drives me nutty. I seriously detest cooking. So the added help from kids sends me over the edge! But I recognize that this is something that Taylor really loves and it's a great way for me to spend one on one time with her. Pretty much anything else we do, my kids are fighting for my attention, but Aubrey has inherited my feelings towards cooking and drifts out of the kitchen anytime a cooking project is begun. As part of her birthday day, I let Taylor help cook her cake. And stayed patient during the process :)

For her birthday dinner/party, Taylor wanted Dora, Mickey Mouse, and princesses. Classy :)

She is a timid one, I think the fire on her candles was scaring her here?

Olive was loving the Happy Birthday song!

Taylor's favorite present from the night. Oh Dora.
Such focus!
