Don't tell me you were SLEEPING last night at 2 am.....

If you were then I'm sorry, you're not a true die hard Twilight fan or you would have been watching Bella race to save Edward from the Volturi. Stephanie Meyer's brother goes to church with me, so I felt like I had legitimate reason to make it to the midnight premier! And so did 20 or so other girls from church here too! Lining up 2 hours before the showing paid off and we had great seats all together. I couldn't quite get a picture of our whole group, but here's most of us!
But all this fun is not without some consequence for me. Between the movie and the insomnia I get when I'm pregnant, I have honestly gotten about 12 hours of sleep over the past 4 days, three nights in a row of going to bed at 3 am. So that's why I was too tired and lazy to take my good camera to the show or apparently even clean off the lens or resize these pictures to my usual 600px.

I hadn't noticed until now that one of my friends is wearing a Forks sweatshirt! That's awesome! That's Stephanie Meyer's sister in law by the way, I know some famous people here!

So please tell me after seeing New Moon, that your love for Jacob has increased just a little? I've been pro-Jacob from the beginning, before the movies even started. Edward just has too much intensity and too many issues. Give me light hearted and fun and smiley any day over a tortured soul. But if you're into mopey guys instead I won't judge :) But in New Moon? There is no way you can compare Jacob's physique to Edward's and still think that Edward is the cute one. NO WAY!I know you're jealous of my shirt :)

Mom moments

I'm loving that Aubrey is at an age that she can start participating in things and enjoying them. So many things I used to take her to were really for me to socialize with other moms, she was too little to care where she was. But being able to take her to things that she enjoys and can be excited about is a new experience and I love it. It makes me really feel like a mom.

I braved my swine flu fears and took her to a free trial gymnastics lesson at a gym here. It went about like I expected. Aubrey didn't follow along with anything the teachers did, in fact, she threw fits when they tried to help her do somersaults or handstands. But she did have a blast playing on the equipment, especially the balance beam. She actually found a way to climb up on a regular beam (they are about 4 feet high) and started walking on it with no fear! Even though her behavior was a little less cooperative then I wished, I had such a good time watching her explore and laugh and have fun. Then when we left she threw a ginormous ear-splitting, flailing fit complete with her slapping me at least 5 times. It always amazes me that I can go from feeling so warm and fuzzy about Aubrey to wanting to give her a spanking in about 30 seconds flat!

This is just a cute picture from later that night. Aubrey took off running out of the bath before I could wash her hair. I was about to scold her and she knew it, but then I couldn't stop laughing at her bubbly outfit. As soon as I started laughing, Aubrey knew she was off the hook and gave me this cute smile, which is a rarity to capture with a picture.
I love these moments with Aubrey, in fact, I NEED these moments with her, because sometimes she is so so bad! But then she's so so cute sometimes and it makes up for all the hard times. Now I'm having flashbacks of some of the awful tantrum moments we had earlier this week, like seriously ridiculously horrible very public tantrums...she better do something super adorable ASAP!

Aubrey's little photo shoot

A friend of mine here has a daughter just a bit older then Aubrey and is a great photographer, so we've been meaning to take our girls out for a while and have a little photo shoot. Most of you know Aubrey, so you know she's not the easiest subject for pictures. But she actually did better then I thought. She has yet to master posing, or smiling, or looking at the camera, or staying still, but she did do a good job of staying in one spot (but not actually staying still within that spot) and she let go of her blanket for the pictures, two big steps I must say!

And thank goodness for photoshop, her nose was a runny mess, but I don't think you would know looking at these photographs. I know I'm posting an overload, but she's my baby, I couldn't just pick 2 or 3. So buckle up.....
I think she's thinking here about how much fun she's having taking pictures with mom. :)
I LOVE this picture! With her crazy hair, it's so Aubrey.

And what could be cuter then pictures of Aubrey? Pictures of 2 cute girls! Except Aubrey needs a little coaching here on posing. We told the girls to hug, but Aubrey looks so forlorn, I'm not sure why she kept her eyes closed. In the second picture, we told the girls to hug again, but Aubs decided to give her friend a kiss. Cute right? Except Aubrey's face was quite snotty, her poor friend! To check out some more pictures of these cuties together, go to my friend Kara's photo blog here. She got some great ones!

The Mandatory Halloween post!

4:30 PM the afternoon of October 31 - Zach and I realized what lame parents we are when it comes to celebrating the holidays. We had not one Halloween decoration up, Zach and I had no costumes for ourselves (luckily Aubs had one my mom and sister found for her!), we had no Halloween candy bucket for Aubs, which wasn't a big deal because we had no specific plans to take her trick or treating. It all just snuck up on us! So with a hour and a half to spare before we needed to leave for a Halloween party, we came up with this.....
A bunch of baby dolls made me the OctoMom and 3 dollars of face paint made Zach a tiger! He painted his face himself and was very proud. On our way over to our friends' party, we passed a group of the partygoers still trick or treating with their kids, so I jumped out to join them. I guess I hadn't really thought Aubrey would get into it, but after a few houses she got the hang of it and was sprinting door to door saying in one breath "trick or treat, thank you, see you later, bye bye!" and helping herself double fisted to the candy, then sprinting off to the next house! My heart was honestly melting, it was one of my most fun mom moments yet. I resolve from this time forth to be a more fun holiday mom for the sake of my kids!

Then on to the party, with plenty of cute girls.....
and our special boys :)
and tons of food!

Since Aubrey was able to understand this year that being in a costume equaled getting candy, she was much more cooperative about it. Anyone remember this picture from last Halloween?
A much improved attitude
