UTAH
mountains, dry air, "ya" instead of you, craft stores, beige walls, BLUE skies, sunny days, fry sauce, highlighted hair, trucks with enormous lifts, Cafe Rio, "Oh my heck!", best snow on earth, babies everywhere, vinyl lettering - I love it all!
We started off our week with a family reunion at Bear Lake. It's a beautiful place and we stayed at a great location. We had such good time and appreciated Zach's parents putting it all together.

Aubrey did this all day - I'm sure it was the happiest, dirtiest day of her life.

Typical Aubrey - standing up dangerously in her stroller and screaming.

This is classic Utah to me. The brightest bluest cloudless skies you could imagine. Tall dry mountains. Wide open vistas.
I took these pictures early in the morning up Big Springs Park off of Provo Canyon. This is my absolute favorite place to mountain bike. The meadow in these pictures has a singletrack trail all down it. Flying through that huge sunny meadow on a mountain bike is one of the best feelings ever. I found these old pics (disposable camera shots and then scanned, that's how old!) of me different times in that same meadow. I told you I love that place!

Trying out the Florider. There were a bunch of little boys there doing it too who kept snickering at me, but luckily it's been a few years since I cared what pre-teen boys thought of me.
And we visited my cousin Carrie and her family, who I haven't seen in years. Carrie and I were roommates in college and I miss all the fun we had snowboarding, climbing, mountain biking, and waching Friends together. I miss you CCC!

So maybe I do find it fun to chuckle about Utah mormons, but in reality, I'd live there in a heartbeat (plus a job for Zach with a fatty paycheck).

Glad you had fun. That picture of Aubrey standing in her stroller, screaming cracks me up! Thanks for sharing.
Ok, I'll admit only to you, that I love Utah too. Not to live though, just to visit.
I think Utah is pretty and it has a lot of good college memories for me. This warrents only visiting for me though since I always thought people stared to much at you while driving:) I had so many near accidents there. Hahahaha!
Man, every time i see pictures on your blog I think, "THOSE ARE AMAZING, and if she took them, WOWWWW" (and then it always turns out that you took them.) I AM SO impressed with your skills. For sure start a business or something!
On a side note, do you care if I steal your "first birthday" cliches for a post for Kalia? I thought it was so cute (and not overly cheesy or anything) so i want to plagarize. :)
That picture with the sun glare is amazing- you are good!
I love Utah, also- I am bummed that I didn't make it there this year, but the outdoors are just amazing!
I love your pictures of Utah. We would move there in a heartbeat too. And Aubs screaming in the stroller, priceless:)
I love the meadows and mountains in Utah too! Utah is not on the short list of states we can move to though...a fatty paycheck might change Cory's mind! Classic Aubrey in the stroller...she is singing you can't fence me in!!!! Love it!
Mel, your pictures are so beautiful. I am so impressed. You are becoming quite the pro.
You totally made me miss UT! It is really pretty. What's wrong with UT mormons!? j/k
I love the intro to your post. You missed the part about fake boobs and fake blonde hair. Those seem to be staples to Utahns. But I do love it there to visit. It really is one of the most beautiful places ever.
i feel like i wanna hire you to photograph something for me. it must hurt you to see the jacked up pics all over my blog. :)
If a pictures worth a thousand words, the pic of Aubrey standing in her stroller is worth a million. That's how I see Aubrey in my mind. I'm going to take a picture of the screen so that when you call me that pic of Aubrey pops up.
Wow! So pretty! That's the best part of UT, the scenery. Hope you're having a blast in NC without us! We're jealous!
